The “Women” collection by Filipe Condado has been developed in a travel environment. Although these images have been taken in several major cities throughout the world, the imagery In which they immerse us is a global one. In these environments, almost x-ray like, composed by flashes of fleeting light, we can identify pieces of clothing or fashion accessories. These “objects of desire” are photographed at night through heavy lighted shop windows turning the photographer into a sort of raider. “Women” speaks to us about our collective desire, about our secret wish to embrace beauty and treasuring it to be seen by us, as in an eternal zapping. The concerns subjacent to Filipe Condado’s work are mostly formal and his pictures keep on pushing the boundaries of an “electrifying” abstractness which is becoming more and more his own.
